Osteria Vignetta

The Vignetta is historically the meeting place and restaurant of the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio, a university of reference in Switzerland and in the world.

The main symbol is a V. V as Vignetta. V as a glass, which allows you to "contain" the moments and occasions of conviviality.

The bunches of grapes, still present in the courtyard, are an integral part of the place; they own and tell stories and events related to the ancient tavern. The bunches are symbols of "community", made up of many small entities, which together form a "whole", and are found in this space, regenerated, and that finally resumes form.

The stalk of the bunch becomes the completion of this V, the only element with a bright red color, a symbol of vital energy and transformation of grapes into wine. Vignetta is a place of transversality and uniqueness, within the Campus of the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio.
