Grotto della Valle

The Grotto della Valle is nestled in a narrow gorge of the val Mara in Maroggia. The origins of the Grotto are quite old and even date back to the end of the nineteenth century. During the years it saw various transformations and is now a modern facility whilst still retaining an atmosphere of the past.

It boasts a big garden with a large lawn and quite a few tables covered by a sturdy roof to protect the customers from the sun and eventual rain. Furthermore, the Grotto offers a dainty and unique indoor room  where during the colder season the dishes are accompanied by the crackling of the fireplace.

The kitchen is a true, genuine and traditional example of ticinese cooking, mainly due to the expert hands of the lady-chef who for many years has made the customers re-discover increasingly rare flavours. The cuisine is also enhanced by the addition of typical brasilian dishes and the grill is always functional from Wednesdays to Sundays and upon reservations for Mondays and Tuesdays.

The grotto della Valle in Maroggia is definitely a good choice especially, if you are looking for a very quite location that is easy to reach thanks to the access from the nearby motorway and where you can relax and savour an excellent cuisine amongst an impressive greenery.
