Occasio Ensemble in concert

On Saturday, 28 November, at 5.30 p.m., the parish church in Melano will host a concert by the Occasio Ensemble, a young ensemble founded in December 2022 through the vision of Burapha Pedrolini and Marlène Garattini. The group brings together amateur musicians and talented students, giving everyone the opportunity to play, develop musically and share the joy of making music with the audience.

The concert programme focuses particularly on the eighteenth century and features captivating works, including Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Cellos in G minor, RV 531, and Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 in D major, Hob. I:104. Alongside these masterpieces, the audience will also hear the world premiere of Attese, a concerto for two cellos and orchestra by Burapha Pedrolini.

The ensemble will be conducted by Burapha Pedrolini, a composer and conductor who is also studying composition and conducting at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana. For this concert, the ensemble will also have the honour of accompanying two cello soloists, Viola Valsecchi and Lucio Corrente.

Held to mark the patronal feast of Saint Andrew, the concert offers a special opportunity to enjoy high-quality music in a beautiful setting in our municipality, while supporting a young, dynamic artistic project committed to growth.

Everyone is warmly invited to attend. The concert will be followed by a convivial gathering with a complimentary aperitif.
