Concert by the Benedetto Marcello Polyphonic Choir

The Benedetto Marcello Polyphonic Choir of Mendrisio was founded in 1965 by Maestro Mario Cairoli. The choir's 16th-century polyphony provided fertile ground for over twenty years, quickly reaching international fame. Under the direction of Maestro Mario Moretti, the choir's repertoire was enriched with important choral works accompanied by an orchestra. Maestro Paolo Sala is currently the director.

The choir currently includes approximately 50 amateur singers and offers a valuable opportunity to anyone who wishes to share their passion for singing, develop their vocal skills, and socialize with other choir members.

The association's overall goal is to promote collective music and create synergies with other choirs, musicians, and orchestras. The choir rehearses once a week at the Musica nel Mendrisiotto headquarters in Mendrisio and is always looking for new voices.

Every year, two concerts are offered to the people of Mendrisio: the traditional Christmas concert and the Palm Sunday concert at the beginning of Holy Week.
