Cantina Mendrisio was born from the passion of a group of Mendrisiotto winemakers and, even today, it is a cooperative with over 200 members, the only cooperative winery in the entire Canton.

A way of making wine based on collaboration, respect for the land, and a desire to look ahead. Here, the grapes arrive directly from our members and begin their journey: from harvest to vinification, all the way to bottling.

A heritage built on people, experience, and the land, but with a very simple vision: to enhance each grape and transform it into authentic wines, an expression of the place. Between the barrel cellar, historic vats, and ancient underground spaces, the winery is also a space to be experienced. Tastings, tours, and events allow you to discover firsthand everything that goes into a bottle.

The winery also manages the Montalbano Estate, one of the largest red grape growing areas in Switzerland. Here, the vines are cared for year-round, from pruning to harvest, with meticulous and consistent work that maximizes the area's characteristics.

Merlot is the star of the show: Montalbano grapes give life to the wines that bear the estate's name. Today, Montalbano is much more than a vineyard: it is the place where nature, people, and wine meet. And it is precisely here that we organize events, tastings, and tours to bring the area to life, even for those discovering it for the first time.
