Spartaco Vela, Impressioni dal vero

The Museo Vincenzo Vela inaugurates its autumn exhibition season with an extensive exhibition dedicated to the painter Spartaco Vela (1854-1895), the only son of the famous Ticino sculptor and Sabina Dragoni. 

Going beyond readings that confine him to the role of a simple ‘son of art’, the exhibition invites the rediscovery of an artist with a solid education, active in the cultural context of his time, of which he was a sensitive interpreter. 

The pictorial and graphic production in the collection at the Museo Vela is presented to the public for the first time in its near-totalty, following the thread of an original thematic itinerary.
