Lake Lugano Rowing

The tranquility and the extension of the gulf of Capolago-Riva San Vitale sheltered from crosswinds, the presence of a large lakeside plot of land in Melano made available by the Società Anonima Tannini Ticinesi and the ease of access by public transport create the ideal conditions for holding a rowing regatta on a 2,000 m course for a large number of participants. The proposed solution has finally allowed Ticino to propose after 20 years a national regatta on a classic course, open to Swiss and foreign clubs, which is intended to become a recurring event in the rowing calendar. The regatta area is only 600 meters from the Maroggia-Melano FFS station, which is served by frequent trains that stop, among other stations, in Mendrisio, Capolago, Melide, Paradiso and Lugano.
