Madonna and Child by Peter Paul Rubens.
The m.a.x. museum launches a new initiative that will be proposed annually during Advent and Christmas holidays.
The works of art deposited in Chiasso are really many and of great value: a heritage that normally remains closed to the public. With the Advent Exhibition, the m.a.x. museum intends to contribute to making these marvels kept in private collections visible in the name of the pleasure of sharing art and culture.
The possibility of admiring the Madonna and Child by Peter Paul Rubens is a unique opportunity, thanks to the availability of the owners who exceptionally make this extremely beautiful painting available on a temporary basis. The extraordinariness of the event is also underlined by the fact that it will be possible to see the work on display in a specially created structure, at close range, in complete safety, by accessing the museum area reserved for the occasion, namely the Hall, free of charge.
The Advent Exhibition also wants to represent a message of appreciation of culture in this difficult period. Culture which is an inexhaustible source of pleasure and beauty. In this regard, the Madonna and Child by Rubens will ideally welcome the museum's guest, who is then invited to continue his personal journey into art by visiting the current exhibition ALBERTO GIACOMETTI (1901-1966) graphics on the border between art and thought, in the halls of the m.a.x.museo until 10 January 2021.
