The welcoming region!

On the occasion of the World Road Cycling Championships in 2009 many people were struck by the especially beautiful pictures, the splendid photographs and abundant positive tourist comments made by the various commentators during the live television programmes!

 All this was certainly a reward for all the efforts made by the Mendrisio 09 Organisation and by Mendrisiotto Tourism, but above all it is a reminder that this area is really an area "to be discovered".

Hospitality, good food and wines, tradition and dynamism offer interesting places and themes for all those who decide to spend a few days here. The offers of accommodation in the area range from B&B to agritourism, from hotels to appartments and campsites.

The morphology of the area enables a choice to be made ranging from the calm banks of the lake with the magnificent villages of Brusino, Riva San Vitale, Capolago, Melano, Maroggia and Bissone to the mountains and green valleys, suggesting solutions to suit every taste and need.

The opportunity to hold a seminar or congress in one of the area’s structures, some of which are quite special, can also be the ideal prelude to a first taste of what the region has to offer.
