CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY (BECCARIA’S ORATORY)
    |  1/1

This monument is a beautiful example of the baroque architecture. It is linked to the personality of the architect Carlo Beccaria who, with his brother Giacomo, had been a collaborator of Bernini in Rome and Lazio.

The oratory was built in a very short time, since 1674, and appears in a magnificent style. Over the centuries it has not undergone additions or significant renovations. It only underwent a conservative restoration in 2009-2010.

The characteristic of the facade consists in a skilful use of terracotta, which stands out as a decorative element. Inside, the nave and the presbytery are decorated with valuable stucco ornaments and frescoes. In the middle of the altar, surrounded by two columns and a table in marble of Arzo, there is a large fresco of the Nativity of Jesus, to which the church was dedicated.
