An opportunity to get to know the area!

The cross-border project which introduces you to the territory between the Flowered Coast of Lake Maggiore and the green vineyards of Mendrisio was called RoadtoWellness!

During the course of its three-year development from 2009-2011 the RoadtoWellness project was able to realise the following in the Mendrisiotto and Lower Ceresio Region and in the Varese area:

- a series of routes which, with the extra help of e-bikes, enable the visitor to reach the most interesting areas in the two regions, to visit the excellent culture and naturalistic points and to taste the products which are typical of this cross-border area

- the chance for the visitor to be able to consult the trails on the site, www.roadtowellness.ch, even before coming to the area and to be able to record his/her own trail with a GPS Logger or own I-phone

- special attention on the part of the hoteliers who each suggest 3 trails designed especially with departure from their hotels and are already listed as Bike-Hotels

- special hotel offers for those who decide to spend some days in the area and take advantage of the RoadtoWellness proposals

Hotels which as of 2012 offer e-bikes on hire in their structures are indicated on the list (www.ticino.ch/en/E-Bike-Park-Ticino.html)other hire points have been added to these name.

The current offer of the RoadtoWellness project is the opportunity to be welcomed in an area which has also been the venue for the World Cycling Championships on 3 occasions and to set out on the discovery of particularly beautiful places, pedalling a convenient e-bike. We are quite sure that this region will be able to astonish you thanks to the sense of wellbeing where two UNESCO sites, among other things, are to be found as well as numerous theme trails and natural parks and important cultural signs of the past!
